Founding Engineer (m/f/d)

Our team comes from the German startup ecosystem, with experience at Autarc, Greenforce, Cardino, Wemolo, Remberg, Alasco, Porsche, Mercedes, and KPMG.

You’ll be one of the engineers who builds Aampere’s platform from the ground up. You take features from the first idea to production, across frontend, backend and infrastructure, and make sure what we ship works for the people using it. You build the UIs our customers see and the services and APIs that keep data flowing reliably behind them. That’s how you turn our platform into the engine behind Europe’s used EV market.

To get there, you make the architecture calls, ship to production on AWS and use AI tools like Cursor and Claude Code to move faster without cutting corners. You understand why we build what we build, connect technical decisions to business outcomes and act without waiting to be asked. As a founding engineer, you also set the standards, processes and foundations that let us grow the team and the product.

• 3–6+ years building production systems across the full stack, confident with Next.js, React, TypeScript, Tailwind, Nest.js, PostgreSQL and Docker.
• You build clean, performant UIs and design scalable services and RESTful APIs that keep data flowing reliably. 
• You’ve owned features end to end, from architecture and implementation to deployment on AWS with GitLab CI/CD and iteration.
• You bring a founding mindset: energized by ambiguity, with 0→1 experience or the hunger for it, ideally from a VC-backed startup where you’ve seen what “move fast” really means.
• You understand what you build and why, connect technical decisions to business outcomes and act without being asked.
• You work AI-native with tools like Cursor and Claude Code and communicate clearly in English. German is a plus.

• … you want to work mostly remotely. We believe the best ideas happen when people are in the same room. That’s why you’ll be with us in the office at least four days a week.
• ... you want to join a mature engineering org with established playbooks. We’re writing ours right now.
• … you need a finished plan before you start. Seed stage means a lot is unclear and changes week to week. You have to be comfortable making decisions in the dark and correcting course as you go.
• … you want to stay in your lane. “That is not my job” is not a thing here. You jump in where it matters, even when it sits outside your job description.
